Hopwood Child Care is proud to announce that we officially have a Certified Nature Explore Classroom! Our outdoor classroom brings a sense of wonder to children’s lives. We have natural art areas, a mud kitchen, music spaces, raised garden beds, building play, and a beautiful gathering area.
What is a Certified Nature Explore Classroom?
Certified Nature Explore Classrooms are dynamic, nature-based play and learning spaces. We enhance the physical environment and add natural beauty to the surrounding area. We are excited to demonstrate a deep commitment to connecting children with nature.
Importance
Research shows that children need authentic connections with the natural world as a regular part of healthy growth and development. There is a growing concern that today's children are not getting adequate access to nature. Many lead overly scheduled lives which decrease time spent outdoors exploring nature and increase time spent indoors or on playgrounds to void a rich sensory experiences.
